What Stage Are You In Your God-Given Calling?

Anchor Scripture

"For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods." — Matthew 25:14

God has entrusted each of us with gifts, talents, and opportunities—not to hide them, but to use them faithfully for His glory and to bless others.

In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the Parable of the Talents. Each servant received something valuable according to their ability. Two servants invested what they were given, while one hid his talent out of fear.

This parable reminds us of an important truth:

Your calling is not just about discovering your gifts. It's about stewarding them responsibly to serve others and glorify God.

Where are you in your journey?

Let's explore four stages of a God-given calling.

1. The Discovery Stage

This is the stage where you begin asking:

  • Why did God create me?

  • What gifts has He given me?

  • How can I serve others?

You may feel excited, uncertain, or even overwhelmed.

The important thing is to stay close to God. Your calling isn't found through comparison—it's discovered through relationship with Him.

Scripture:

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." — Ephesians 2:10

At this stage:

  • Pray for wisdom.

  • Explore your gifts.

  • Pay attention to what burdens your heart.

  • Trust God with the process.

God is not hiding your purpose from you.

2. The Preparation Stage

After discovery comes preparation.

This stage can feel slow.

You may be learning new skills, growing spiritually, or serving faithfully in small ways while waiting for bigger opportunities.

Remember: preparation is never wasted.

The servants in Matthew 25 had to decide what they would do with what was entrusted to them.

Likewise, God is asking:

Will you be faithful with what you have today?

Scripture:

"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much." — Luke 16:10

Don't despise small beginnings.

Every prayer, every act of service, and every step of obedience matters.

3. The Growth Stage

This is when your confidence begins to grow.

You start using your gifts more boldly.

You see how your work encourages others and brings glory to God.

However, growth also requires responsibility.

The servants who multiplied their talents weren't praised simply because they had gifts.

They were praised because they used them faithfully.

Scripture:

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things..." — Matthew 25:21

At this stage:

  • Keep serving.

  • Stay humble.

  • Continue learning.

  • Use your gifts to bless others.

Growth is not about fame.

It's about faithfulness.

4. The Impact Stage

This stage is less about you and more about others.

Your experiences become encouragement.

Your gifts become service.

Your testimony becomes hope.

You begin to understand that your calling was never meant to stop with you.

God entrusted you with gifts so you could make a Kingdom impact.

Scripture:

"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." — 1 Peter 4:10

At this stage:

  • Mentor others.

  • Share your testimony.

  • Encourage people walking behind you.

  • Continue giving God the glory.

Your calling is a blessing meant to bless others.

Final Encouragement

Wherever you are in your journey—discovery, preparation, growth, or impact—remember this:

God has entrusted you with gifts for a reason.

He isn't asking you to compare your calling to someone else's.

He's asking you to faithfully steward what He's placed in your hands.

At BTArtist Creation, we believe every Christian creative has a God-given calling and that creativity is a gift meant to glorify God and impact lives.

Don't hide your gifts.

Don't let fear keep you from moving forward.

Use what God has given you.

Bless others.

And trust that He will multiply your faithfulness for His glory.
